What is Story of Somewheres?
Story of Somewheres is a role-playing game currently in development for PC/Mac. It's a story-driven adventure with a turn-based battle system, hundreds of weird and charming characters, and a 2.5D world designed to look like it belongs on the Nintendo 64.
What is Somewheres?
Somewheres is a place! The Land of Somewheres is an impossibly huge continent made up of many independent kingdoms. The game takes place in the Heartbeat Kingdom and a few of its neighbors on the western coast.
What is the story about?
You play as Heyew, a brave lad made of purple clay, and follow him on his adventure to uncover the truth behind a series of mysterious events causing chaos across the kingdoms. Along the way he'll meet friends who will join him and help him solve puzzles, open new paths and beat up bad guys.
Is this a "Paper" RPG?
Yep! Similar to titles like Bug Fables and The Outbound Ghost, Story of Somewheres draws inspiration from the original Paper Mario, right down to the 64 bit look. You can expect to meet partner characters that support Heyew not just in battles but with puzzle-solving moves outside of battle too. People can say it is just a reskin or a fangame, but if those people have ever played a Metroidvania they can eat my farts.
Who are the characters?

Heyew
Heyew is the hero of the game. He's an adventure loving ball of clay known for his devil-may-care attitude and ability to change the shape of the tentacle on his head into anything he can imagine.
Bark & Bubbles
The prolific inventor and know-it-all Bark can always rely on his little brother Bubbles to help build and test his latest intentions, even if that means being a crash test dummy. The Brothers Binx are an inseparable duo.
Persephone
The kind-hearted bumblebee named Persephone always stops to talk to the flowers. To her, there's always something awesome just around the corner.
Princess Nina Bobina Love-love
The young, but experienced ruler of the Heartbeat Kingdom. Protecting her people is the number one priority for Nina and her trusted chamberlain Doohickey Fafu.
The Bandit King
Heyew's arch nemesis is known across Somewheres for being a huge jerk. The Bandit King doesn't steal treasure as often as he takes things that would make your life annoying. A good vocabulary word to describe him would be "ostentatious".
When is the game coming out?
That's a good question. Ideally a year or two. It depends on a lot of things, but most importantly it depends on how well the upcoming demo does.
